APPLY NOW: PhD position in Fluorescence Spectroscopy (Fully-funded)

Deadline: March 1, 2017

PhD position in Fluorescence Spectroscopy, Nano-Science Center & Department of Chemistry, University of Copenhagen

A 3 year PhD position in fluorescence spectroscopy and microscopy of novel organic dyes and their bio-conjugates is available in 2017 in the NanoChemistry group, Department of Chemistry and Nano-Science Center, University of Copenhagen. The starting date of the scholarship is April 1st, 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter.

  1. Area of Research
The project aims at developing new fluorescent imaging techniques and assays based on specially designed fluorescent dyes developed in the research group. In particular dyes with long excited state lifetimes are studied for their use in: gated detection, FLIM, and anisotropy based imaging and assays. The PhD candidate will primarily work with state-of-the-art fluorescence spectroscopy techniques including: time-correlated single photon counting (TCSPC), fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM), and fluorescence anisotropy, and super-resolution microscopy.
Research stay in laboratories of international collaborators in Europe and USA will be a part of the project.
